Emma's Back Home

So...the dreaded day has come and gone. I returned Emma back to Matthews, NC yesterday without any pupnapping attempts, or plot to replace her with the doppelgänger kitten.

So thus a montage of things lost to me, but regained by Byron, Scarlett, & the very luck Miss. Josie.

Balltime : even though this ball was really too heavy to throw in the house...and I know she got hit in the head with it too many times...this was definitely in her top 3 of favorite toys.

Even used as a pillow when taking a "break" (by the way...these never lasted too long!)

Her #1 favorite toy: Giraffe. This was the first one I bought her...and if you told her to "go get the/your Giraffe!" She would! No matter how many toys were closer to her, she'd always bring back this one.

Me being anemic, she definitely helped out by keeping my toes warm at night.

Emma is the best at snuggles :)

Mandatory 30 min. quality snuggle time every morning before getting ready...and every night before bedtime.
I think I might miss this the most.

And EVERY morning, when I wasn't watching, she'd try to sneak a taste of some chocolate milk.

Getting this face every morning as I was getting ready to leave for work made me melt...and almost made me late on several occasions!

And this face at the window ALWAYS mad that "I really just wanna stay home." feeling WORSE!

Plus, the random awesome preggers photo ops. She really was the best medicine for me, dealing with a particularly emotionally-hellacious pregnancy.

Everyone says that in a few weeks I will be too wrapped up with Lil Man (actually being here!) to be sad about no Emma. I say, "Yeah Right!"

BUT...she is home with some of the most amazing people on the planet. People I am proud to call family and that I admire immensely! I couldn't have taken her back if that weren't true. And I owe them an HUGE "THANK YOU" for giving me the chance to keep little Emma for so long.

Emma's Doppelgänger

So...we have a new addition to our ever growing furball family (or shall I say, an ABANDONED addition to the bushes outside the front door!)

Amanda is Thrilled! And poor Emma got one sniff and was enthralled! I can't even take her out to do her "lady business" without her trying to dive into the bushes to find the kitty!

I think Emma forgot the scent of a kitty...so this could be a good thing in getting her ready to go home...

But my devious side...which I know I inherited from my cousin Byron....just couldn't help but notice how close in color Emma and "The Kitteh" are!

I mean...I did tell Byron that I gave Emma a haircut!

And it's been awhile, they coulda forgotten that she's supposed to be a bit bigger...and should bark instead of mew, right?

I mean seriosly people! How am I supposed to part with this face...without at least one kidnapping plan in the works?

...I am taking a big purse tomorrow :)

Don't tell!

The Sleeping Emma....

So...we have come to the unanimous conclusion that Emma is a sweet little thing...but all sweet little things need rest...and here are some of Emma's favorite places to sleep :)

On my bed...mostly during the day while I'm at work...she loves me :)

On Amanda's pillows...she usually falls asleep here in the mornings after watching me leave...breaks my heart!

Don't know if she's actually fallen asleep under mom's dresser....but she sure likes to hide under there and taunt Dolce' with the ball!

This is one of my favorites...the gets up on the arm of the big blue chair with me when I'm working on the computer...and is out like a light!

And the best is on my chest or belly...she loves to feel Lil Man moving around....FREE MASSAGE!

It just breaks my heart every morning...

This is what I see EVERY morning as I walk past Amanda's bedroom window on the way to my car:

I HATE having to leave my poor Emma behind...

I wish I could bring her to work with me!!!

Or work from home to stay with her!

This cannot be healthy for either of us!

Emma > Cute even with a chopped up hair cut!

So, I tried my best, but I wasn't about to keep torturing my sweet thing! She was straight terrified of the clippers and couldn't stay still to save her life when I tried to finish shaping her up with the scissors...

She feels so much better though! No more panting all night, and she still has some water left in her bowl in the morning!

I figure I'll give her a few days...let it grow a little...and then I will try to make her more presentable before it's time to take her home.

Daddy Byron is set to head back to Charlotte on Friday....

...But he might have some trouble getting her back!

I'm too addicted to my Emma!

***A Lil More Tease***

There was more hair on the floor than there was EMMA!!!!

I swear this pile had to weigh in at over a pound!

Smelly Good Emma

Time for Emma's weekly scrub down.

I got some new puppy shampoo for her that conditions too. (Her hair is getting so long! She needs massive detangling!) It smells AWESOME!!! Three days later and I'm still inhaling the yumminess!

Emma doesn't really like her baths...but she tolerates them. I think the part she hates the most is the blow-dry afterwards....but then she lays in my lap so I can comb out all her nappies while she takes a nappy!

Emma Found the Fishtank!!!

I came home Tuesday after a pretty rotten day....everything has been breaking at work..lil man is sapping all of my energy...and my car is dying. But none of that mattered after I stepped foot in the front door and Lil Miss. Shrimpbutt was right there (with her elephant toy in mouth) to greet me.

***I had to get her an elephant toy...after all, I've been getting bunches of elephant stuff for lil man & I didn't want her to feel left out!***

Well, apparently right before I got home, Miss Emma found the fishtank. I don't know why she never noticed it before...I mean, it's not a small thing! But mom caught some pretty great pictures of her on the back of the chair...enthralled with Nemo!

She loves looking in there...but loves licking the salty side of the tank the best....gotta keep an eye out for her on that one!!!

Now I wish the Aquarium allowed Maltipoo-American visitors :(

Emma & her new Earbobs

Emma's ears were getting so long that they were soaking wet whenever she got done getting her drink of water...so I was brave and trimmed them for her.

Now she looks totally cuter

Like that was even possible!

She does pose better for me now!

The death of yet another Toy

This morning I gave Emma the chicken bone squeaky toy out of the toy basket.

She Love it.

FOR 3 SECONDS

man, I love this dog!!!

Emma's Bath

I gave Emma a bath on sunday....she doesn't mind it too much, but would really rather cuddle than deal with the hair dryer!!!

Here's a video of Angelica and Dolce' trying to help her dry off.

Emma: Refuge from Fraggle Rock

Dance your cares away,

Worry's for another day.

Let the music play,

Down at Fraggle Rock.

Emma is getting a little scruffy (and I love it!!!)
But with her hair going flat and with a part on the top...it just hit me like lightning, she could be a Fraggle!!!!
